DESCRIPTION

Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd, one of the top ship building and repairing bases under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), with a long history tracing back to 145 year ago in year 1962. In May, 2005, the plant of Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd. located in Lujia Zui in Pudong was all moved to the north shore of the Chongming Island. A new shipbuilding and repairing base is set up there.

SHIP REPAIRING
hanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd. can build all kinds of vessels below 100,000DWT for both domestic and foreign owners, such as bulk carriers, timber carriers, multi-purpose vessels, container vessels, reefer vessels, Ro-Ro vessels, passenger vessels, ocean salvage vessels and port inspector working vessels. Since 1949, Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd. has built over various 500 vessels.

SHIP REPAIRING
Scattering in downtown area of Shanghai and Chongming Island, the Company’s ship repairing sectors boast an annual repairing capability of over 200 vessels, preliminarily forming ship repairing in scale. The sector in downtown area of Shanghai has quay line of 300 meters, one dry docks for vessels up to 35,000DWT. The sector in Chongming Island has 760-meter-long quay line in use now and two floating docks for vessels up to 40,000DWT and 100,000DWT respectively.

STEEL STRUCTURE
With the capability of design and production for the steel structure, Shanghai Shipyard Co., Ltd is awarded with the first-class qualification for steel structure and frame work construction. The production area reaches 127,000 square meters and the annual output of the steel structure reaches 30,000T. Besides providing ship blocks, hatch covers and various fittings, the steel structure department is also involved in the design and production of the steel bridge, steel high-rises, municipal constructions, pressure containers and so on.
