It was the first shipbuilding and repair company in the Gulf region to obtain the accreditation to ISO 9001. The company was originally incorporated as Kuwait Shipbuilding & Repairyard Co.

Founded in 1974 to meet the requirements of the ship repair / shipbuilding and marine industries in the Northern region of the Arabian Gulf. HEISCO Shipyard Operations:
Conveniently located in the main commercial port in the State of Kuwait - " Shuwaikh Port ". The shipyard is ideally placed to execute Ship Repair, Shipbuilding and Professional Diving Services.
 
HEISCO's skilled and well trained work force, together with modern equipment and a strong yard management team provides the correct combination to ensure delivery on time. HEISCO is proud of its long reference list including local, regional and international clients.

A floating drydock of length 190 meters, width 32 meters, caters for vessels up to 35,000 dwt.

A Syncrolift accommodates vessels up to 5,000 dwt. with 7 repair bays, ranging in length from 90 to 135 meters, the system is linked by a transfer system. 5 berths, ranging from 90 meters to 230 meters in length are serviced along their entire length by 5 luffing cranes with lifting capacities from 10 to 30 tonnes that cover the yard’s open areas with 10 to 20 overhead traveling cranes in the workshops and stores.

Newly modern outfitted engineering workshops, large steel construction hall, covered repair and new building hall, sheet metal and steel outfitting shop, pipe shop, electrical workshop, wood workshop, toolmaker’s shop, galvanizing shop, blasting and painting plant and fully equipped laboratory are located on an area of 200,000 square meters in the yard.

For offshore support / repair / diving services, a diving support vessel / floating workshop with HEISCO’s certified divers are able to carry out underwater welding and repairs and in-water surveys that ensures efficient and high quality repairs with subsequent short delivery times on the smallest and largest vessels visiting Kuwait.
